What it is
Vishnevsky Balsamic Liniment is one of the most recognisable topical preparations in Eastern European medicine — a classic antiseptic formula developed in the 1920s by Soviet surgeon Alexander Vishnevsky. It combines birch tar and xeroform (bismuth tribromophenylate) in a castor oil base to deliver antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and tissue-regenerating effects. Applied to wounds, sores, burns, and inflammatory skin conditions, it accelerates healing and protects against infection. A staple of any Eastern European home medicine cabinet.
