What it is
Krasny Oktyabr Truffles are a Soviet-era classic: dense, smooth chocolate spheres dusted generously with cocoa powder. Each piece has a rich, slightly bitter chocolate exterior that gives way to a soft, creamy cocoa centre. The recipe has stayed essentially unchanged for decades.
Made by Krasny Oktyabr (Red October), a Moscow confectionery founded in 1851 and one of Russia's most recognised sweet-makers. These truffles are among the staples of the Eastern European sweet tradition, now available in the 200 g pack.
