What it is
Akhasheni is one of Georgia's most celebrated appellations — a naturally semi-sweet red wine produced in the Gurjaani district of Kakheti from the Saperavi grape. The name belongs to a protected designation of origin, and wine has been made in these vineyards for centuries.
Suliko's Akhasheni pours a deep ruby-crimson, opening with aromas of dark plum, blackberry and dried cherry, with hints of dark chocolate on the finish. The natural residual sweetness is balanced by the grape's firm tannins and fresh acidity, making it full-bodied yet approachable.
