What it is
Ziemeļu Tumšais (Northern Dark) is the flagship dark beer from Užavas Alus, a family-run craft brewery nestled in Kurzeme, 20 km south of Ventspils on Latvia's Baltic coast. Brewed to Baltic dark lager traditions, it pours a rich mahogany with a tan head and fills the glass with aromas of toasted malt, caramel, and a gentle roast character.
At 5.8% ABV it sits squarely in the Baltic dark lager style: smooth and rounded, with a restrained bitterness and a clean, lingering malt finish. Best served at 8–10 °C.
