What it is
The Baltic glazed curd snack (biezpiena sieriņš in Latvian, творожный сырок in Russian) is one of the things every Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian kid grew up on. Soft sweetened quark, wrapped in a thin cocoa coating, eaten cold from the fridge in two bites.
Kārums is the most recognisable brand of the lot — the orange wrapper with the round-eyed crow on it. The vanilla version is the gentle one: warm, fragrant, not too sweet.
