What it is
Gaisais — meaning 'light' or 'pale' in Latvian — is the flagship brew from Užavas Alus, a family-run brewery in the coastal village of Uzava in western Latvia. Founded in 1994, shortly after Latvia regained independence, the brewery chose its location for one reason: the exceptional quality of local water.
The result is a pale lager brewed with just four ingredients — malted barley, hops, yeast, and water. Approachable and refreshing, it carries a gentle bitterness and a clean malt backbone. Best enjoyed well chilled, straight from the can.
