Classic Russian fondant sweets in chocolate glaze

What it is

Romashki (daisies) are one of the best-loved Soviet-era candies still made by RotFront, Moscow’s historic confectionery factory. Each piece is a smooth cream-brulee-flavoured fondant — pale and yielding — wrapped in a thin layer of dark chocolate glaze.

The name comes from their daisy shape: a round, ridged fondant centre that echoes the flower. Light on the bite, rich in flavour.

Ingredients

Sugar, chocolate glaze (sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter equivalent (vegetable oils), cocoa powder, emulsifier: soya lecithin, E476, vanilla flavouring), milk-containing product with milk fat substitute (normalised milk, reduced whey, sugar, vegetable oils, antioxidants, flavourings), rectified ethyl alcohol, flavourings.
