Large whole fish, lightly smoked, sealed in rapeseed oil
LATVIA · CANNED FISH · 240 g
What it is
Whole Baltic sprats (Sprattus sprattus), cold-smoked over alder and then sealed in rapeseed oil. The larger fish size gives a meatier bite and a fuller flavour, noticeably richer than standard-size tins.
Caught in the Baltic Sea and canned to traditional Baltic standards. Serve on dark rye bread with sliced onion, or alongside pickles and a hard-boiled egg.
