What it is

A boxed set of four ceramic mugs decorated in the Gzhel style — the traditional Russian folk art of hand-painted cobalt-blue motifs on white porcelain. Gzhel has been produced in the Moscow Oblast village of the same name since the 17th century, and its swirling floral and geometric patterns are instantly recognisable. Each mug holds 0.4 litres, a comfortable size for tea, coffee, or hot chocolate.
