What it is
Grilyazhnye are a beloved Russian confection built around a simple idea: crunchy pieces of roasted hazelnuts set in a soft, yielding caramel, then enrobed in a dark chocolate glaze. Each piece arrives in its own light-green wrapper printed with gilded squirrels — an immediately recognisable Rot Front signature.
The caramel here sits between chewy and brittle: it gives gently when you bite in, releasing a deep toasted-nut flavour before the chocolate shell takes over.
