What it is
Jāņu siers is a Latvian sour-milk cheese made each year for the summer solstice festival Jāņi. Rankas piens is one of six certified producers authorised to make the TSG-registered variety. The cheese is cooked from a blend of fresh and soured curd with butter and eggs, then lightly pressed and studded with caraway seeds — giving it a firm, sliceable texture and a clean, mildly savoury flavour with warm spice notes.
Ingredients
