What it is
Veliūona is a classic Pergale line: each sweet has a dark chocolate shell (minimum 50% cocoa solids) around a filling of crushed wafer and rum-flavoured cream. The chocolate gives a clean, pleasantly bitter snap; the interior is smooth and lightly fragrant.
Pergale has been crafting confectionery in Vilnius since 1952. Veliūona takes its name from a small Lithuanian town and has remained a consistent favourite across the Baltic region — familiar to anyone who grew up with Eastern European chocolates.
Ingredients
Sugar (EU), vegetable fats (palm kernel oil, palm oil, coconut oil), low-fat cocoa powder, cocoa mass, wheat flour, water, rapeseed oil, raising agents (sodium carbonates, ammonium carbonates), table salt, cocoa butter, flavourings, emulsifiers. Dark chocolate: minimum 50% cocoa solids.
