What it is
Plain (not boiled) sweetened condensed milk in the generous 1 kg catering tin — the size you reach for when you’re baking for a crowd, prepping a torte, or stocking the cupboard for a season of desserts. Nostalgija is one of the long-standing condensed-milk brands from Rokiškio sūris, one of the largest dairies in Lithuania.
Stir it through coffee or strong black tea, layer it through cakes and pies, use it as a quick filling for eclairs, waffle rolls and tinginys, or boil the unopened tin in water (fully submerged, topping up the level) to make caramelised varenka at home. With 1 kg in the tin, there’s plenty for both.
