The classic Russian zefir — meringue-soft, gently sweet.

What it is

Zefir — the traditional Russian-Latvian meringue confection: whipped apple purée with sugar and egg white, set into a tender, foam-light cylinder. Snow-white or pastel pink, gently sweet, melts on the tongue.

Serve with hot tea, cocoa or coffee. A small piece is enough; the air does the work.

Sugar, glucose syrup, water, fruit purée (apple), egg white, agar-agar, acidity regulator (citric acid), natural flavour, colour.

These are possibly one of the best marshmallow I have ever had. One of the best kept secret sweets ever. If these were in our local supermarket they would be a staple in the cupboard as a guilty snack.

Please put up the Pear ones too I had those and they are a close second..

I come up to see family from Leicester every month. I have to buy one or two packs every time just to see me through. These are so good that it is worth the trip just for these alone. Just dont tell my dad ..
