What it is
Kefir is a fermented milk drink — pasteurised milk cultured with kefir grains, which give it a fresh, gently tart taste, a soft fizz and a generous dose of live bacteria.
Pour a glass for breakfast, drink alongside Eastern-European dumplings, or use it as a base for smoothies and cold soups (okroshka). A cornerstone of the Baltic and Eastern-European fridge.
Ingredients
Pasteurised milk, kefir starter culture.
