What it is
A beloved Eastern European confection born in Soviet Ukraine. Plump raisins are enrobed in a smooth, hard sugar shell and tumbled in vivid sea-pebble colours — blues, greens, reds and yellows — then polished to a satisfying gloss. Light, sweet, and endlessly moreish: these little dragées have been a fixture in candy dishes and snack bags for generations.
