What it is
Дунайский (Danubian) salad is a classic Eastern European preserve — crisp gherkins, tender carrot ribbons, sweet peppers and sliced onions bathed in a light vinegar-and-oil marinade. The name pays homage to the Danube basin, where marinated vegetable preserves have been a pantry staple for generations.
