What it is
Žemaitijos low-fat curd (varškė) is fresh pressed cottage cheese with a soft crumb and a clean, gently sour finish — only 0.5% fat, yet rich in protein.
Spoon it over berries for a light breakfast, blend into smoothies, or use as a high-protein base for syrniki and cheesecakes. Žemaitijos Pienas has been making it in Telšiai since 1924.
