What it is

Krasnaya Shapochka — Little Red Riding Hood — is one of the best-loved sweets in the Soviet and Russian confectionery tradition, produced by the legendary Krasny Oktyabr (Red October) factory in Moscow.

Each piece is built from thin crispy wafer sheets layered with smooth peanut praline paste, then enrobed in a rippled chocolate glaze. The contrast of the crunchy wafer, the nutty filling and the dark chocolate coating has made this sweet a staple on Eastern European dessert tables for decades.
