What it is
Dark chocolate (not less than 53% cocoa) shot through with shards of roasted hazelnut, pressed into thin sticks and individually wrapped in silver foil. The recipe has been the same since 1976.
The whole point is the format — long, narrow slabs that snap clean and melt fast. Pull one stick out at a time, leave the rest in the pack. A short pour of coffee is the obvious match; a small glass of cognac or a sweet wine works too (the recipe itself uses a touch of cognac).
Ingredients
Sugar, cocoa mass, crushed roasted hazelnut kernels, cocoa butter, emulsifiers: soy lecithin, E476; cognac, antioxidant E300, vanilla flavouring. Cocoa solids: not less than 53.2%.
