What they are
Small handmade-style confections by Chocco Via, the family chocolatier in Dubno, Ukraine (founded 2005). Each piece is a tender, Turkish-style dried apricot stuffed with a half walnut, then fully enrobed in a smooth dark cocoa-style glaze. The flavour balances the natural caramel sweetness of slowly-dried apricot against the slight bitterness of cocoa and the buttery crunch of walnut.
No frills, no fillers — closer to a piece of homemade petit-four than a mass-produced sweet. Each piece eats like a one-bite dessert.
How to enjoy
- After dinner with coffee, espresso or a small sweet wine — particularly good with port or muscat.
- On a cheese-and-fruit board: sets off blue and aged cheeses beautifully.
