What it is
A traditional Lithuanian dry-cured sausage from UAB Biovela. Pork is lightly seasoned with pepper and natural herbs, stuffed into casing and matured slowly for about two months until the stick turns dense, lean and deeply flavoured. The 200 g baton slices cleanly — paper-thin for an appetiser board, slightly thicker for a sandwich.
This is the same Bernu recipe that took the gold medal at Prodexpo 2011 in Moscow, and it has held its place on Baltic and Eastern European tables ever since.
Ingredients
Pork, salt, spices, dextrose, spice extracts, antioxidant (sodium ascorbate E316), flavourings, flavour enhancer (monosodium glutamate E621), preservative (sodium nitrite E250).
