What it is
Baltika 0 is the best-known non-alcoholic beer of the former USSR — a real light lager brewed from barley malt and hops, then gently de-alcoholised to no more than 0.5% ABV. Crucially, it still tastes like beer: crisp, lightly bitter, with a clean malty middle — not a sweet "beer-flavoured drink".
Serve it well chilled. It does everything a lager does next to dried fish, salty croutons and the rest of the classic zakuski — except slow you down. At under 0.5% ABV it sits in the same range as kvass, so the car keys can stay in your pocket with a clear conscience.
