Piebalgas Gaišais is the flagship light lager from Piebalgas Alus, a craft brewery in the Vidzeme highlands of Latvia. Brewed to a traditional Latvian recipe, it pours a clear golden colour with a fine white head. The malt base brings a clean, biscuity sweetness, balanced by a crisp hop bitterness and a lively carbonation that lifts the finish.
This is an unpasteurised, living beer — meaning it retains active yeast and develops a fuller, more rounded flavour than its industrial counterparts. Best enjoyed fresh and well-chilled.
