What it is
Aldaris Izlases Medalus is a pale lager brewed with real honey, from the oldest brewery in Latvia — Aldaris, a Riga institution founded in 1865 and now part of the Carlsberg group. “Izlases” means “selected” in Latvian, and “Medalus” points to its defining ingredient: honey, added to give the beer a gentle sweetness that rounds out the malt backbone.
The result is a light, approachable beer — low bitterness, a soft golden colour, and a mild honey note that lingers without being cloying. Best served well-chilled, straight from the can, or poured slowly into a cold glass.
