What it is
Utenos Kriek is a cherry-flavoured fruit beer brewed in Lithuania by Utenos Alus, part of the Carlsberg Group. The classic kriek style — originating in Belgium — pairs a light lager base with real cherry character for a drink that bridges the gap between beer and fruit without leaning too far into either.
Poured into a glass, it presents a deep ruby-red with a faint pink head. The aroma leads with fresh cherry and a hint of malt sweetness. On the palate it is lightly tart, moderately sweet, with a clean, dry finish and gentle hop bitterness. Easy-drinking at 4.6% ABV, well-suited to warm-weather occasions or as an aperitif.
