What it is
Zigmas Classic is a whole Atlantic herring fillet, lightly salted and packed in refined rapeseed oil. Produced in Lithuania by UAB ISESO Žuvis, it follows a traditional Baltic curing method — a short salt cure that preserves the herring's natural flavour without masking it.
The result is a soft, pale fillet that holds together on a slice of rye bread, needing nothing more than a few rings of red onion alongside.
Ingredients
Atlantic herring fillet (Clupea harengus harengus) 83%, refined rapeseed oil 17%. Salt, dextrose, acidity regulators (E575, E330, E334), flavour enhancer (E621), preservatives (E211, E202).
