What they are
Vāverīte — "little squirrel" in Latvian, Belochka in Russian — has been one of Laima's signature sweets for generations. A soft hazelnut praline filling with crumbled hazelnut pieces, enrobed in proper dark chocolate that snaps when you bite into it.
The mark of a good one is the balance: nutty, not too sweet, and the chocolate carrying enough cocoa to keep things grown-up. A handful with strong coffee, or unwrapped slowly with afternoon tea.
Ingredients
Chocolate (cocoa min. 39%) 30%, sugar, hazelnuts 20%, cocoa mass, almonds 11%, cocoa butter, emulsifiers (ammonium phosphatide, polyglycerol polyricinoleate), flavouring.
