What it is
Chuka is a Japanese-inspired seaweed salad made from young undaria fronds (wakame), prized for their tender texture and mild ocean flavour. In this version, the seaweed is marinated in a rich walnut sauce — nutty, slightly tangy, with a gentle warmth from garlic and spice. Sold chilled and ready to eat, it works beautifully as a starter, a side salad, or a topping for rice dishes.
Ingredients
Seaweed (undaria pinnatifida/wakame), walnut sauce (walnuts, water, vinegar, garlic, sugar, salt, spices), soy sauce (water, soybeans, wheat, salt), sesame oil, sugar, salt, acidity regulator (acetic acid), sesame seeds.
