What it is
These barrel-style pickled tomatoes follow the traditional Eastern European method of natural salt-brine fermentation — the same technique once used in great oak barrels to preserve the summer harvest. No vinegar is added: the tangy flavour comes entirely from lactic fermentation in a seasoned brine with dill, garlic, and spices. The result is a mellow, slightly effervescent pickle with a soft texture and a deep, savoury tomato character.
Ready to eat straight from the jar — alongside boiled potatoes, salted fish, rye bread or as part of a spread.
