What it is
Griliažas is the Lithuanian take on an old confectionery tradition: small pieces of crunchy caramelised peanut brittle enrobed in a rich cocoa coating. Each piece delivers a contrast of snap and chew, sweetness and a faint roasted bitterness from the chocolate.
Made by Pergalė, Lithuania's most recognised confectionery house, the recipe keeps things direct: peanuts, caramel, and chocolate, with no cream or wafer layers to dilute the character.
Ingredients
Sugar, roasted crushed peanuts, fully hydrogenated palm kernel oil, palm fat, lean cocoa powder, emulsifier (soy lecithin), flavouring.
