Shumi Mukuzani 2018
Dry red wine from the Mukuzani appellation, Kakheti, Georgia
GEORGIA · SHUMI · 0.75 L
What it is
Mukuzani is one of Georgia's most celebrated protected designations of origin (PDO), produced exclusively in the Mukuzani microzone of the Alazani Valley in Kakheti, eastern Georgia. The appellation's continental climate, rich alluvial soils, and altitude give Saperavi grapes uncommon depth and concentration.
Shumi Winery, established in 1997 in the Tsinandali area of Kakheti, combines traditional Georgian winemaking with modern cellar practice. The 2018 vintage shows a deep ruby colour with aromas of dark plum, dried cherry, and hints of chocolate and spice. Full-bodied with well-integrated tannins and a long, warming finish.
