What it is

Ceburekas (chebureki) are a much-loved Eastern European street-food classic: thin, crisp parcels of unleavened dough wrapped around a well-seasoned minced-meat filling, deep-fried to a deep golden crunch. This mini format packs all that flavour into bite-sized pieces — easy to portion, easy to share.

Keep a bag in the freezer for a quick savoury fix: a few minutes in a hot pan and you have a crackling crust giving way to a hot, juicy centre. Good on their own with a dollop of sour cream, or alongside pickles and fresh herbs as part of a snack platter.

Ingredients

A traditional cheburek dough and filling are built from a short list of honest ingredients: wheat flour, minced meat (pork and/or beef), onion, salt, ground black pepper and vegetable oil for frying.
