What they are

Akkond's «Lady Night» is a chocolate-shop classic from Cheboksary: a soft, cream-coloured soufflé folded with grated prune, then dipped in milk chocolate. The fruit does most of the sweetening, so the bite is rich but not sugary.

Each sweet is wrapped individually in its dark-blue foil, which makes the 200 g pack ideal for a tea tray, a guest bowl, or slipping a couple into a coat pocket for later.

Dried prunes (with preservative: potassium sorbate), sugar, peanuts, apple purée (with preservative: sulphur dioxide), glucose syrup, cocoa products (cocoa powder, cocoa mass), cocoa-butter equivalent (palm and shea oils), confectionery fat (refined deodorised vegetable oil with antioxidant α-tocopherol), sweetened condensed whole milk, almonds, egg products, skimmed milk powder, whey powder, gelling agents (agar, pectin), soya lecithin emulsifier, dehydrated milk fat, acidity regulators (trisodium citrate, citric acid), antioxidant: ascorbic acid, flavourings (vanillin, vanilla), milk chocolate, preservative: sorbic acid, salt.

Store in a cool, dry place at 15–21 °C, away from strong odours. Once the pack is opened, reseal it or transfer the sweets to an airtight tin.
