What it is

Kulich is the traditional Easter sweet bread of Russia, Ukraine, and Eastern Europe — tall, domed, and rich with butter, eggs, and candied fruit. Baked and gifted at Easter to mark the end of the Lenten fast, it is as much a symbol as it is a treat. Dense but tender in texture, lightly spiced and sweet, with a glazed crown and colourful sprinkles, kulich is one of the most recognisable and beloved Easter foods in the Orthodox tradition.
