What it is
Daktariska (Doctor's sausage) is the Lithuanian take on the iconic Doktorskaya — a mild, finely minced cooked sausage made from pork and beef, with additives kept to a minimum. Krekenavos has produced it at their Lithuanian plant for decades, following a recipe that stays close to the original.
Sold as a whole loop of approximately 1 kg, it slices cleanly for sandwiches and open-faced rye bread snacks, and cubes well into soups or potato dishes.
