What it is
Kisel (кисель) is one of the oldest drinks in Russian cuisine — a lightly thickened, fruit-flavoured drink served warm in winter and chilled in summer. This instant mix from Babushkin Khutorok makes the cranberry version: pleasantly tart, ruby-red, and ready after a minute on the hob. Dissolve 45 g of powder in 200 ml of cold water, stir into 800 ml of boiling water, and simmer for 1–2 minutes. One 180 g pack makes approximately two litres.
