What it is

A solid shampoo bar that does the work of three products — shampoo, conditioner and scalp care — pressed into one 60 g puck. Rub it directly along wet hair a few times, or work up a lather between your palms; it foams generously and rinses out cleanly, without the weight a liquid conditioner can leave behind.

The formula is built around ginger root extract and Polygonum multiflorum (he shou wu), both long-standing ingredients in Chinese hair care, alongside caffeine, biotin, keratin and a run of plant oils — argan, castor, coconut, jojoba and avocado. Honey and aloe vera juice sit near the top of the list. One bar replaces a bottle, which makes it handy for travel and for anyone cutting down on plastic.

How to use

Wet your hair thoroughly. Rub the bar along the lengths a few times, or lather it between your palms, then massage into the scalp and work through the hair. Rinse well — it foams more than you expect, so give it a moment. Repeat if your hair is very oily.

Stand the bar on a draining dish or keep it in a vented tin between washes. Left sitting in water it will soften and disappear far faster.

Contains honey — an animal-derived ingredient, so this bar is not suitable for vegans. Also contains tea tree oil and citrus peel extracts. If you have sensitive skin or a known plant allergy, patch-test behind the ear before first use.
