What it is
Evening Chisinau (Вечерний Кишинёв) is one of Moldova's most iconic confections, made by Bucuria — the Chisinau candy factory founded in 1946. Each piece is a whole pitted prune centre wrapped in a smooth dark chocolate glaze, giving a naturally sweet-tart flavour with a soft, chewy bite. The name captures the warmth of a Chisinau evening, and the recipe has changed very little since the Soviet era.
