What it is

An angular-section stainless steel skewer, 55 cm long and 10 mm wide — the standard choice for grilling shashlik and kebabs over an open mangal. The angular profile grips food firmly so meat and vegetables stay in place as you turn the skewer, rather than spinning freely as they would on a round rod. How to use

Thread your marinated meat or vegetables along the length of the skewer, leaving a few centimetres free at each end for handling. Cook over hot charcoal, turning every few minutes for even colour. After use, wipe clean while still warm or wash with hot soapy water.
