What it is
Citron is one of the great Soviet-era chocolate sweets — a soft, velvety lemon fondant centre, pale yellow and brightly flavoured, enrobed in chocolate glaze. The combination of tangy citric acidity and sweet fondant is unmistakably Красный Октябрь (Red October), the Moscow confectionery that has been producing these since the Soviet period.
