Zhigulevskoe is one of the most recognised beer names in the post-Soviet world. First brewed at the Zhigulevsky Brewery in Samara in 1936, the recipe — water, barley malt, hops, yeast — became the reference lager across the USSR. At 4.0% ABV, it is an easy-drinking pale lager with a clean malty character and mild hop bitterness.
