Waffle Cones with Condensed Milk Filling
A bag of golden cones, sweet caramel filling, no fuss.
EASTERN EUROPE · CLASSIC RECIPE · 200 G
What they are
Vafelnye rozhki — small wafer cones piped full of a thick, caramelised condensed-milk filling. They sat in jars on every Soviet sweet-shop counter and they have stayed quietly popular ever since. The cones snap with a clean crispness; the filling is rich, faintly toffee-like, very sweet.
Eat them straight from the bag with strong black tea or coffee, lay a few on a saucer next to ice cream, or break them up over a bowl of curd cheese for a quick dessert. A classic to bring out when guests turn up unannounced.
