What it is
Šakotis — the spectacular Lithuanian tree-cake baked on a rotating spit so the batter drips into golden spikes and rings. Dense, buttery, eggy, with a distinctive nutty caramel from the long bake. Traditionally for weddings, christenings and Christmas.
Slice into spikes or wedges. Keeps well at room temperature for weeks.
