What it is
Starka is one of the oldest traditional Baltic spirits — a rye-based distillate aged in oak alongside dried apple and pear tree leaves. The leaves add subtle fruit notes and a soft herbal bitterness that set Starka apart from ordinary vodka.
Stumbras, founded in Kaunas, Lithuania, has been producing this style for decades. Their Starka carries a warm amber colour and a character closer to an aged brandy than a grain spirit: dried fruit, honey, light oak, and a clean bitter finish.
