What they are
Solomka is a soft-baked sweet bread stick, longer and slimmer than a breadstick proper, lightly enriched with butter and sugar and finished with vanilla. Crisp on the outside, slightly tender within, just sweet enough to want a second piece.
Serve with strong tea or coffee, snap a few into a glass of cold milk for kids, or pair with sour cream and jam for a nostalgic afternoon snack.
Ingredients
Typical recipe: wheat flour, sugar, drinking water, vegetable oil, butter, eggs, leavening (sodium bicarbonate), salt, vanillin.
