What it is
Naminė, meaning “homemade” in Lithuanian, is a coarse-ground smoked sausage made in the traditional farmhouse style. Petro Mėsinė crafts this sausage from pork seasoned with garlic, black pepper and marjoram, then cold-smoked over natural hardwood to develop a deep, rounded flavour and a firm, sliceable texture.
Satisfying on its own, it pairs naturally with rye bread, pickled vegetables or a sharp mustard. Serve sliced as part of a cold platter or lightly pan-fried until the edges crisp.
