What it is
Spirgučiai (Lithuanian for “cracklings” or “greaves”) is finely-chopped smoked pork fat and meat — the smoky, savoury filling that goes into kibinai (the famous Lithuanian-Karaim hand pies), into yeasted bun doughs, into mashed potato, and over hot pasta.
RGK is one of the long-established Lithuanian meat producers. Their spirgučiai are pre-cooked and ready to use straight from the pack — fold a generous spoonful into pie dough, sprinkle over boiled potatoes, or stir through cabbage and onions for a quick supper with deep, smoky depth.
