What it is
Plain (not boiled) sweetened condensed milk — thick, glossy white and naturally sweet. Markomilk is the long-standing house brand of Marijampolės Pieno Konservai (MPK), a Lithuanian dairy that has been canning condensed milk in Marijampolė since the 1970s and remains the only canned-milk producer in the Baltic region.
Spoon it into coffee or strong tea, swirl through porridge, use as a quick filling for eclairs and waffle rolls, or layer through a homemade torte. You can also boil the unopened tin in water (fully submerged, topping up the level) to make your own caramelised varenka at home.
