Hrenovina — Siberian Horseradish Sauce
A raw, punchy condiment where tomato meets horseradish root
EASTERN EUROPE · 370G
What it is
Хреновина (khrenovina) is the Siberian answer to adjika: an uncooked, intensely flavoured sauce built on freshly grated horseradish root and ripe tomatoes. Sharp, bright, and bracingly hot, it goes by many names — khrenodyor, gorlodyor, Siberian adjika — but the core is always the same. It pairs beautifully with cold cuts, smoked or boiled pork, and a thick slice of rye bread.
